How to Store Strawberry Mousse
Mousse needs to be chilled for at least an hour before serving, but you can actually refrigerate it for up to 3 days. Be sure to cover each glass tightly in plastic wrap and keep the mousse in the coldest part of the fridge.
Can strawberry mousse be frozen?
Since this is a strawberry mousse without gelatin, it does not freeze super well. However, you can freeze leftovers if you want! Just keep in mind that the texture will likely be quite different after it thaws.
What to serve with strawberry mousse

These lemon sugar cookies would be so tasty to pair with easy strawberry mousse. Some cake mix cookies, shortbread cookies, or oatmeal cookies would be a tasty pairing as well.
You know, you could even scoop this mousse mixture into a graham cracker crust for a simple mousse pie. I just wouldn’t store it too long in the fridge in a crust or it could make it soggy.
Can I make strawberry mousse without gelatin?
Yes! You do not have to have gelatin or a jell-o mixture to make mousse. This one is made with just heavy cream and a cream cheese mixture. Add the strawberry flavor with pureed strawberries for the most creamy and luscious dessert.
Pro Tips for the Best Strawberry Mousse Recipe
- For an extra smooth puree, strain it after blending. This will help remove the tiny strawberry seeds and any larger chunks of fruit.
- Make a refined sugar free version by sweetening the puree with honey, maple syrup, agave, or a sugar alternative.
- It is really important to chill the bowl that you plan to make whipped cream in. It will help keep the whipped cream for the mousse chilled and with a good structure.
I hope you love this fluffy treat as much as I do! It’s the perfect use for ripe and juicy summer strawberries.
