Strawberry Lemonade Margarita
I hope everyone is having a blast kicking off summer vacation!! You know what would make it even better…..this Strawberry Lemonade Margarita!! It’s the perfect summertime drink. It’s cool, refreshing, and perfect for a crowd. Oh, and it’s also super easy to make because I’m using frozen lemonade. Heck, you can even use frozen strawberries and make this easy summer drink that’s loaded with strawberry and lemonade flavors in a few minutes!
A few other summer staples you need to make this summer: Tomato Cucumber and Avocado Salad, Spicy Chicken Tacos, and another refreshing drink option Strawberry Rose Sangria.
There’s just something about a cool refreshing drink on a hot summer day. I’m usually found whipping up a batch of Blueberry Sangria, Pink Moscato Lemonade, Palomas or this Piña Colada recipe when it gets hot in the summer!
I bet you wish you were my friend and lived close to me now!
Lemonade Margarita
I absolutely love the color of this lemonade margarita and I love the taste even better, let’s just say it goes down REALLY easy!! (I have made this pitcher of strawberry lemonade margaritas 3 times this past week!!)
What is the best tequila for Margaritas?
Since we aren’t drinking it straight no need to reach for the most expensive (top shelf) tequila. But having said that don’t use the cheapest you can find either. I like a middle ground. Use a Reposado or Gold (which is what I used in this recipe) tequila. Smooth enough to be mixed in with a fruity drink.
Is Triple Sec and Cointreau the same thing?
Why yes they are. And actually, Cointreau is a brand of triple sec and a good one too! Triple Sec is just an orange liquor which is a sweetened alcohol flavored with orange flavoring.
But like I mentioned earlier don’t spend too much money on liquor thinking that the most expensive is the way to go. I know just sipping liquors alone you can tell a big difference in quality but for some reason when everything is mixed together a person really can’t tell. And even more so when we are adding strawberries and lemonade.
I have a question to ask you guys. Do you salt the rims of your glasses??? I’m probably going to be in the minority here but I don’t…..it’s just not my favorite. My husband prefers a margarita with salt, me however not so much. Maybe I need to give it another try now that I’m older and my tastes have changed but I just can’t convince myself that I will like it, lol!
But anyway be sure to give this Strawberry Lemonade Margarita a try at your next party and be prepared to make another batch because it’s that good!! 🙂

- Frozen lemonade
- Water
- Tequila
- Triple Sec
- Limes
- Coarse salt
How to Make Strawberry Lemonade Margaritas
It’s so easy first of all!
Grab your blender and combine the strawberries, lemonade and water. Turn blender on and process until smooth.
Pour into a large pitcher and stir in your Tequila, Triple Sec and lime juice aka the good stuff 😉
Next time to make your glasses fancy!
Use a lime wedge to moisten the rim of the glass and then dip the rim of the glass into the salt.
Fill glass with desired amount of ice and fill with the strawberry lemonade margarita.
Tips for Making Strawberry Lemonade Margaritas
You can substitute fresh strawberries with frozen strawberries. You can even add them in frozen. Totally up to you! Perfect for when you are in a pinch.
Control the alcohol by adjusting amounts. If you are looking for a weaker drink go with the smaller amount listed. For example making this for a baby shower, unless you have crazy baby showers! If you are making this for a bachelorette party you might want to go with the higher range listed 😉

New favorite recipe!! Made for 4th of July family gathering; everyone loved them. Used 1/2 fresh and 1/2 frozen strawberries. Used the low end of the alcohol measurements (1 cup tequila and 1/2 cup triple sec) and it was tasty and strong enough since we made multiple batches. Definitely on the repeat list!
Sarah Hill says
Yum! I’m so glad this was a hit with the family for the holiday! Thanks so much for sharing and rating this recipe!
Trish says
Can I substitute regular lemonade? I can’t find frozen.
Julie Evink says
You can, but skip the water in the recipe and the batch will be bigger because you are starting with a prepared liquid lemonade.
Mariah says
Hey! So excited to try this, I love that you use the frozen lemonade instead of like the powder or premixed! Takes me back to when I was little! Quick questions though! I have a gallon drink dispenser… So, I guess my question, is how many servings would be in a gallon would you say? Not sure on the “serving size” for this 🙂
Julie Evink says
The serving size is going to be about 4-6 ounces.

So glad you are enjoying it!
Annette says
When I adjust the recipe for 24 servings it is referring to (3) 4.5 cups, does this means (3) 4 1/2 cups?
Julie says
No, it is saying anywhere from 3 to 4.5 cups of tequila for the 24 serving option. 3 cups if you want it less strong and 4.5 cups for a stronger mixture.
renee says
can you use frozen strawberries for this recipe
Julie says
Yes, you could either thaw them first or use them frozen.

Hey Malinda! Since I don’t drink alcohol, I’m wondering if there are any substitutions I could make that would approximate the same flavor. This looks SO YUMMY.
Malinda says
Hey! You could try substituting the alcohol for 12 oz of Canada dry or club soda (depending on how sweet you want it) and 1/3 cup of orange juice. Let me know how it turns out!
