You Will Love This Easy Recipe
- Most of the ingredients in this recipe are pantry spices. You probably have them on hand already!
- The crackers are coated with melted butter flavored with dill, garlic, onion, and other ranch seasonings.
- You bake the crackers at a low temperature until they’re golden and delicious!
- Once cooled, you can serve them right away or store them for later.
I know you’re going to love this easy snack recipe. It’s hard to stop at just one handful! They are perfect for anyone who loves ranch, which at our house is basically everyone.
Ingredients
- Unsalted butter – The ranch seasoning is salty on it’s own so we recommend unsalted butter so it doesn’t get to salty.
- Dry ranch seasoning mix – use a one-ounce packet or make your own ranch seasoning mix.
- Seasonings: We use not only the ranch seasoning mix to flavor these crackers but dried dill weed, garlic powder, onion powder and black pepper.
- Oyster crackers – They are the perfect size to eat by the handful! You could also use pretzel twists.
- Parmesan cheese – The perfect finishing touch because everything is better with cheese.

How To Make Seasoned Oyster Crackers
Preheat the oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit and line two large rimmed baking sheets with parchment paper or foil.
Place the butter in a microwave-safe bowl and melt it in the microwave. Add the ranch dressing mix, dill, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper to the melted butter. Stir or whisk to combine.
Place the crackers in a large mixing bowl and pour the butter mixture over the top. Stir carefully with a spatula to coat the crackers evenly.
Spread the crackers in an even layer on the prepared baking sheets. Bake them for 15 to 20 minutes or until they turn light golden brown. Stir them halfway through the baking time, so they bake evenly.
Take the pans out of the oven and sprinkle the Parmesan cheese over the top while they are hot. Cool them to room temperature before serving or storing them in an airtight container.
How to store Leftover Seasoned Oyster Crackers
If you don’t plan to serve them right away, keep them in an airtight container at room temperature. They will keep well for several days.
Do I have to bake Ranch Oyster Crackers?
I prefer to bake homemade seasoned crackers because it crisps them up, so they’re nice and toasted. Technically, you don’t have to bake them, but I highly recommend doing it!
Flavor Variations!
Spicy Ranch: Make the recipe as instructed, but add some red pepper flakes to the butter mixture for some spice.
Fajita: Swap the ranch seasoning for fajita seasoning and add a few pinches of cayenne to kick up the heat.
Cajun: Use your favorite Cajun seasoning mix instead of the ranch.
Italian: Try some Italian seasoning mix – it would pair great with the Parmesan!
French Herbs: Buy some Herbes de Provence, which is a mix made with different dried herbs.
Chili: Trade the ranch for your favorite chili seasoning mix!
Lemon Pepper: Use this mix to make a lemony cracker snack mix!
Taco: Change out the spices for a packet of Taco Seasoning to put a kick in your oyster crackers.
If you have parties or get-togethers coming up, you need to add this ranch oyster crackers recipe to your menu! You and your guests will love these crunchy, savory crackers – everyone will ask you for the recipe. Enjoy!
