- Pork seasoning – Use whatever pork seasoning you have on hand! Our Gimme Some Grilling Pork Seasoning works beautifully. But store-bought and even homemade pork seasoning would best tasty too.
- Olive oil – Use olive oil, or another high heat neutral oil to sear these seasoned pork chops. Avocado oil and vegetable oil would work.

How to Store Leftover Pan Seared Pork chops
Allow pork chops to cool completely before transferring to an airtight container.
FRIDGE: Store leftovers in an airtight container or zip-top plastic bag. Refrigerate for 3-4 days.
FREEZE: Transfer to a freezer safe container and freeze for up to 3 months.
Can I make pan seared pork chops without a cast iron skillet?
Absolutely! A large non-stick skillet would work great, and a stainless steel skillet will work as well. Just preheat the pan well to insure the pork chops don’t stick.
Should you sear pork chops in butter or oil?
It is best to sear pork chops in a high-heat oil. Butter will likely end up burning and could negatively effect the flavor of this pork chop recipe.
What to Serve with Pan Seared Pork Chops
Serve these stovetop pork chops with veggies like air fryer asparagus or air fryer broccoli. Classics like green beans with bacon and creamy mashed potatoes would pair beautifully with this recipe. These pork chops would also go great on top of a bed of noodles with alfredo sauce.
Creamed corn, glazed carrots, or even cheesy carrot casserole are yummy sides to serve alongside pork chops. Really, choose any favorite sides you want and pair with this hearty protein!
Pro Tips for the Best Pan Seared Pork Chops
- Use an instant read thermometer to check the internal temperature of the pork chops. The meat thermometer needs to read 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
