Easy Apple Pie Bars Recipe ~ Quick and Easy Bars Stuffed with Apple Pie Filling in between a Soft and Delicious Cinnamon Crust then Drizzled with Cinnamon Icing! Canned Apple Pie Filling Recipe and a Perfect Fall Treat!
Apple Pie Bars
Mmmm apples! Yay for fall and “appling all the things”! Soon will be pumpkin and I plan on “pumpkining all the things”! When I was growing up we had apple trees and apparently I brought apples to my teachers according to my Dad? I don’t recall this, but I guess I was quite the suck up it seems! Now, what would have been really impressive, is if I would have brought these yummy easy Apple Pie Bars to them!
What fall activities do you love? We went to an apple orchard a few weekends ago and had a blast. They had a tons of kids activities and a bakery. Of course, you knew where to find Mom! I love baking with apples but I also love eating fresh, crisp apples straight off the tree.
My coworker brought me a few the other week and they were delicious. I also made sure to pick up a bunch at the orchard. I tried a new variety, SweeTango, and they were AMAZING. Like give me them all. I may have hid them from my family because they were that awesome. Perfectly sweet, crisp and tart!

Speaking of fall activities, we picked our pumpkins today from the garden. I imagined this cute, fun, family activities where the girls were excited to pick them and we had a blast. Well, all the happened BUT we had an intruder on our fun. A snake. Seriously. If any of you know me, you also know this is my biggest fear, well one of them. Yes, I live in Minnesota and they are harmless, except to my blood pressure, but they are so creepy!
All of a sudden the hubs calmly says, “Oh there’s a snake.”
Uhhhh no. No. No. There is nothing calm about this situation! I went flying up to the house, well as fast as this pregnant lady can fly! The girls stand there calmly and watch my hubs take care of the critter. Apparently Mom is the only scared one in this family!
Then later the hubs makes the statement to my brother, “Oh, ya I saw three of them today.” WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?????????? He was not going to share this with me. He knew better. If you need my I’ll be in my house the rest of fall.

can you freeze the apple bars
Julie Evink says
Yes you can, just make sure to cool completely and then wrap in plastic wrap or tinfoil to prevent freezer burn.

I made these & they are yummy! It’s just me & my husband and he loves sweets. I didn’t want to make a jelly roll pan, so i halved the recipe & used a 9×13 pan. They turned out perfect. Just out of the oven & cooled to put drizzle on! Enjoying them!

Great idea! Sounds delicious Darlene!
Pat says
Can you use regular apples in place of canned filling?
Julie Evink says
You’d need to make an apple pie filling from scratch to replace the canned filling.
MH says
This is NOT easy. I am halfway through trying to spread this monstrosity into a jelly roll pan and it is far from spreadable. I hope it tastes good.
Michelle Sperr says
Sorry that it was difficult to spread this into your jelly roll pan. I haven’t had that experience. Were you using a nonstick spatula to help press it into the pan? Hope they turned out delicious and made all that hard work worth it!

My wife screams like a 2-year-old girl when she sees a snake. Me I’m like Oh it ‘s a ________snake, it’s harmless. Trust me I used to live where Eastern Diamondbacks were very common and in the spring when the swamp flooded we had to be really careful! Now to this amazing recipe. Thank the gods of cooking for apple pie filling!! I wanted to weep for joy when I saw that! I have health problems and even with an apple peeler and core-er and slicer I still end up hurting. I have pretty much given up in the kitchen. But this is something my 17 yr old son and I can handle and surprise my wife. Should I put a rubber snake on it? Nah, she’d never eat it LOL Grocery shopping earlier next week and with it FINALLY no longer in the 90’s!! I can actually turn the real oven on instead of just the toaster oven!! This recipe was actually a pop-up ad, so glad I got it! Have a great Autumn baking!

Julie, recipe states to drop rest of batter over cherry pie filling. Did this start as a recipe using cherry pie filling? If so, that’s good to know because I wanted to use that too.

Those apple pie bars look delicious. Thanks for the tip about keeping them in the refrigerator. I would run in the house if there was a snake in the yard too!
