Let’s talk Oreos. First of all, Love or Hate? I love them. I adore them. I’d like to marry them. Don’t tell the hubs. I love to stuff them in all the recipes!
My kids love to make Dirt Cups with them – they are super cute!
My hubs enjoys them more than once in a while as a guilty pleasure. I’m his enabler I suppose because I buy them at the grocery store. He eats them plain, he eats them in ice cream, he’ll eat them any way he can get them like in this Oreo salad recipe.

Products Needed
Steps to Prepare
It’s super simple. Look. Four Steps!!
- Whip together buttermilk, pudding mix, and cool whip.
- Add Oreos, we recommend using a food processor to crush them, (reserve 1 cup for garnish) and stir until combined.
- Sprinkle with reserved Oreos.
- Store in refrigerator.
Pro Tips
You will need instant pudding mix so double check the box at the store. You don’t have to make the pudding – the dry mix is added to the buttermilk to thicken and flavor it.
You can make the fluff part ahead but wait to add the cookies until right before you serve it. That way they’ll be crunchy and not soggy!
I prefer to use Cool Whip because it’s more stable than homemade whipped cream. You can use homemade, but it won’t keep as well so plan to make it an hour before you want to serve it.
No buttermilk? No worries! You can make your own buttermilk with two ingredients you probably have on hand.
Feel free to experiment and add some yummy add ins like chopped nuts, mini marshmallows, or even sprinkles.
As you can see, this Oreo Salad is such a super easy recipe! Our whole family LOVES it and no potluck or get-together is complete a few fluff desserts, this peanut butter fluff is a good one too. Give it a try and you’ll see what I mean – people go crazy for it!

Such a great idea! Going to try this out this week as a vegan version 🙂 I’ve made “buttermilk” before with apple cider vinegar and soy milk before, hope it turns out as good as yours looks 😬
