Helpful Tools
How To Make Caesar Salad With Pasta
- Cook pasta to al dente according to package directions. Drain pasta and rinse under cold water.
- In a large serving bowl combine romaine, chicken, and pasta. Pour dressing over salad and mix until combined. Garnish with Parmesan cheese and croutons. Serve immediately.
Do I Need To Use Chicken?
No, you can skip it to make it more of a side dish or switch up the protein. Other options for protein would be thin strips of grilled skirt steak, roasted salmon or grilled shrimp.
Can I use a different type of pasta?
Absolutely! While rotini is great for holding onto the dressing, you can use any pasta you have on hand. Penne, fusilli, or even spaghetti would work just fine.
Can I Add More Ingredients?
Yes! Add some cooked chopped bacon and diced tomatoes or sliced cherry tomatoes to make this a BLT Caesar Pasta salad!
Other great additions are cucumbers or bell peppers.
Can I make this salad vegetarian?
Of course! You can leave out the chicken or replace it with a plant-based protein like tofu or chickpeas.
How long will Chicken Caesar Pasta Salad keep in the fridge?
If you’ve already added the dressing, it’s best to eat the salad within a day. If you’re planning to have leftovers, keep the dressing separate and add it just before eating. That way, the salad can keep for 2-3 days in the fridge.
Pro Tips!
- Cook your pasta al dente. It should still have a bit of a bite to it. This will give your salad a nice texture and prevent it from getting too soft when you add the dressing.
- Save time by buying rotisserie chicken and using that instead of grilled chicken.
- If you’re using store-bought Caesar dressing, taste it before adding it to the salad. Some brands can be quite salty, so you might want to adjust the amount of dressing you use.
Remember, the best part about cooking is making a recipe your own. So don’t be afraid to experiment and have fun with it! Enjoy your cooking adventure!
What can I serve with this salad?
This salad is a meal in itself, but if you want something extra, it pairs well with a slice of crusty bread or a bowl of soup.
Make our Rosemary Bread which is a Macaroni Grill Copycat to serve with it or pair it with a bowl of soup like Sausage Tortellini Soup or Broccoli Cheese Soup.
